Dancebox Juniors provides focused technical dance development in Ballet, Tap and Modern.  

We want our dancers to become knowledgeable, confident, physically and mentally strong. 

Ballet

Ballet teaches work ethic, perseverance, dedication, motivation, stamina, flexibility, and strength. Dancers work hard in ballet but the results are worth it. Ballet helps dancers grow – it gives students what they need to spread their wings and fly in all dance classes.

 

Each year learning and development is assessed via the Dancebox Class Award and external examinations via our ballet dance examination partner RAD.

Tap

Students who undertake tap classes develop enhanced rhythmic and musicality skills. Students develop their ability to hear accent, dimension, and shading in their movement, which in turn enhances their skills in other dance styles. 

 

Each year learning and development is assessed via the Dancebox Class Award and external examinations via our tap dance examination partner ISTD.

Modern

Modern Dance offers dancers a chance to explore their creativity through movement, it also builds strength! From floor work, to jumps, to improvisation, a Modern Dancer uses their entire body and must learn to go from one level to another quickly and seamlessly.

 

Each year learning and development is assessed via the Dancebox Class Award and external examinations via our modern dance examination partner ISTD.

Progressive Ballet Technique

Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) focuses on core strength, weight placement and alignment of the body with a gradual approach of carefully designed exercises and repetitions of these exercises that trigger their muscle memory.   For Juniors we focus on core strength, posture, turn out, and alignment.. For Intermediate students we we focus on pre-pointe exercises, lower limb strength, ankle stabilisation and foot therapy.. Our Seniors focus on extensions, jumps, weight placement, turns and safe dance practice. For any trial class we can supply  the folloinwg Exercise Ball – 45cm (Under 142cm) 55cm (142-160cm) 65cm (160-178cm), Fusion Ball, Resistance Band, Lacrosse Ball and Mini Loop Band, after the trial we strongly recommend students bring their own equipment so they can train at home.
