CONTRACTS / PAYMENTS

  • Classes take place weekly during a school term.

  • Classes are paid for by contracted monthly automatic payment.

  • Payment is deducted via a stored credit/debit card NOT direct debit.

  • If you get a new card it is your responsibility to contact the studio and give the new 16-digit card number and expiry date – we do NOT need the 3-digit security code to update a card.

  • Payment is taken on the 1st of each month, Jan to Dec, regardless of school holidays.

  • Monthly fee = quantity of annual classes, multiplied by the per class rate then divided by 12.

  • No refunds will be made for dance classes missed.

  • If, by the fifth attempt (5th each month) your credit/debit card payment is still not authorised for any reason, a £10.00 late payment fee will automatically be applied to your account.

 

​CLASS AND CONTRACT CANCELLATIONS

  • One full calendar months’ notice is required for withdrawals from class.

  • The cancellation date (and the start of the notice period) is the date the form is returned to Dancebox Studios, NOT the date cancellation is first discussed.

  • Once the form is received we start the cancellation process and our system automatically deducts the final monthly payment from your stored card, this is the payment due during the 1-month notice period, once that is taken and your account is clear, the contract is cancelled.

  • Email admin@danceboxstudios.co.uk to request your class cancellation link.

  • If Dancebox Studios postpones a class we will try to reschedule at a time which is convenient to all but if you cannot attend the rescheduled class, we will credit your next monthly payment the pro-rata amount of the class that was postponed. If Dancebox Studios permanently reschedules a class and you cannot attend, we will cancel your contract with no notice payment deducted.

 

PUNCTUALITY

  • For safety reasons if a student arrives 10 minutes late they will not be able to join a class as warm up would have been missed.

  • Please contact the studio via the landline if you are running late. If a student is NOT collected on time the account holder will be charged a late collection fee of £5 for every 10 mins, or part thereof, after the 10-minute collection window. This will be automatically charged to your stored card.

REFUND POLICY FOR WORKSHOPS

  • If Dancebox Studios cancels a workshop a full refund will be offered.

    • If you attend weekly class/es we will issue the refund to your monthly class account.

    • If you are not a student, we will refund the card payment was taken from.

  • If the parent / student cancels the following applies (days=calendar days):

    • 31+ days before start date 90% refund,

    • 21-30 days before start date 50% refund,

    • 14-21 days before start date 20% refund,

    • 0-13 days before start date 0% refund.

  • Cancellation of any workshop can only be made via email - admin@danceboxstudios.co.uk

MEDICAL AND HEALTH

  • Please refer to our Covid policy for specific Covid19 health policies.

  • If your child does not exercise regularly you should consult your GP before participation.  As with any performing arts-based tuition, there is the risk of injury whilst participating in class.

  • Dancebox Studios is not responsible to evaluate if any child is medically fit to receive instruction.  The Parent/Guardian agrees to independently seek such medical advice.

  • By agreeing to these Terms & Conditions you confirm that your child has no health problems including cardiac irregularities; spinal, bone, joint, tendon or ligament injuries; spells of dizziness; asthma or other breathing difficulties; diabetes; epilepsy or any allergy which may affect your participation in classes at the studio.

  • In consideration of being allowed to participate in the activities and programs of Dancebox Studios and to use the facilities and equipment owned and/or under the control of Dancebox Studios, you hereby waive, release and forever discharge Dancebox Studios from any and all responsibility or liability for injuries or damages resulting from your child’s participation in any activities or your use of equipment or facilities in the above-mentioned activities.

  • It is the client's sole responsibility to notify the studio before attending any session of any circumstances affecting their child’s health which may be exacerbated through continued use of the studio and/or which may have arisen or worsened since their last session at the studio.

 

SAFETY, HYGIENE AND PERSONAL GROOMING

  • In the interests of safety and hygiene, no crockery, glass or food are permitted in the studio.

  • Only closed containers of water are permitted in the studio.

  • No pets are permitted in the studio building.

  • Students must use the main entrance to the studio when entering or leaving the studio.

  • Fire exits, which are clearly marked, are there in the interests of safety and must not be interfered with for any reason. In the event of a fire, clients are asked to make their way to the nearest available exit.

  • Smoking is forbidden in the studio.

  • During class, members must wear the Dancebox Studios uniform as directed. 

  • Outdoor shoes are not permitted in the studio.

  • Hair must be worn in a bun for ballet and swept back off the face for all other subjects.

 

UNIFORM

  • All uniform is purchased from our online store.

  • If you are unsure of the size needed click the ‘read more’ section to expand the sizing section.

  • Tap and modern shoes are generally the same size as the outdoor shoes your child wears.

  • Ballet shoes are generally a size UP from the outdoor shoes.

  • Incorrect sizing – please follow the steps below if you have ordered an incorrectly sized item:

    • Email admin@danceboxstudios.co.uk to explain the issue and confirm the correct size needed.

    • At your childs next class give the UNWORN item, in all packaging supplied (including the white bag with the students name on), to the helper on the door – you don’t need to talk to the helper about this – I will ‘marry’ up your email to the returned item, which will be in the bag with your childs name on it.

    • Once the item is returned to me, I will order the correct size

    • When the correct size is in stock, I will issue it via your childs teacher.

PRODUCTIONS

  • The most important points to consider when registering to perform in a Dancebox production is money and time.

  • Payments outside of your monthly contract fee may include costume, additional rehearsal time, photographs, tickets, and a show DVD, if required.

  • All costumes are non-refundable and ordered bespoke for the specific performer. 

  • Should you leave Dancebox before the production and before the costume is issued the costume will be withheld by Dancebox until AFTER the production; should the costume be used, as an emergency replacement, we will issue a full credit, should the costume not be used you can collect after the show.

  • By performing in a Dancebox show you  grant permission for the display, distribution, publication, transmission or otherwise of any photographs/video footage taken of their child for use in material that includes but may not be limited to print, digital images or social media.

  • All rehearsals scheduled outside of the weekly class time are compulsory.

  • As most rehearsals take place during the weekly class, we do expect students to attend as many classes as possible - should attendance drop we will contact you to find out the reason. Should poor attendance persist we reserve the right to withdraw the student from the production with no refund.

PHOTOGRAPHY AND FILM

  • Dancebox Studios may occasionally photograph or film classes for advertising and publicity material. 

  • By joining Dancebox Studios the Parent/Guardian of the student grants permission for the display, distribution, publication, transmission or otherwise of any photographs/video footage taken of their child for use in material that includes but may not be limited to print, digital images or social media.

  • Should you not wish to retract permission for the above please advise via email, admin@danceboxstudios.co.uk.

 

SAFE TOUCH POLICY

  • The Parent/Guardian understands and agrees that during class, some physical contact may be necessary between the instructor and their child.  Physical instruction, which involves safe touch, is an essential tool for effective teaching and learning i.e. awareness of correct muscle usage, good posture, correct line and breathing techniques.

  • Company instructors will always work in an open environment avoiding private unobserved situations. 

  • Any intention behind physical contact will be professional and unambiguous. 

  • Any physical contact during class will be firm, direct, and necessary. 

 

PERSONAL BELONGINGS

  • Dancebox Studios does not accept responsibility for any items lost or stolen whilst on the premises.

  • We strongly recommend all personal belongings, coats, shoes, uniform etc. clearly shows the student’s name.

  • All unnamed and/or unclaimed items will be donated to a charity at the end of each term.
